Beginners

If you don’t mind getting your hair wet in the chilling Scottish waters this is the club for you. With us you’ll get to learn a unique sport and make some amazing friends on the way.

You’ll be instructed by our experienced and BCU trained kayakers who will also teach you the ever important safety aspects of white water kayaking. Your training will start in the canal and pool where we teach you the basics and later on you will join us on day and weekend trips all around Scotland. The club will provide you with all the necessary equipment: kayaks, helmets, wetsuits etc.

We're always on the look out for experienced kayakers too so if you’re already a solid river runner, playboater or polo maniac we would love to see you. There’s plenty of folk that want to run grade 3 and above.

We also play canoe polo in the Scottish Div 2 and enter boys & girls teams into SUS tournament in Glasgow where we line up against all the other Scottish Universities.

Rough guide for fees

Club membership: £20 - Full equipment hire & storage for the year

Sports Union membership: £15 - Your insurance (valid for all Napier clubs!)

Pool sessions: £3 - Transport for you and the boats

Day trips: £5 to £10 - Transport for you and the boats

Weekend trips: £35 - Transport, accommodation and meals
